korean "chicken" sandwich with kimchi
There’s a NEW butcher in town and he’s serving up all the plant-based, oh-so-CRAZY crispy chicken products your palette could desire! Don’t let the “plant-based” label fool you. These products are made with the highest grade ingredients using pea protein rather than soy based (hallelujah for the women in the world) and have a secret ingredient that provides a chicken like texture that will surprise you: bamboo!
sloppy joes with crispy shallots
These aren’t just any ol’ sloppy joe you had as a kid. My version has been “adulterized” by adding flavors of red wine vinegar for some tang, red wine for depth, San Marzano tomatoes because… they’re the best, red peppers for texture and sweetness, jalapeños for a little kick, and THEN topped with freshly fried crispy shallots & jalapeños to bring it all on home to Flavortown (totally felt like Guy Fieri writing that).
miso salmon over soy sesame ginger noodles
THIS recipe is the one you need to try IMMEDIATELY. The salmon (or chilean sea bass is another great option!) comes out flaky, tender and pretty much like candy. The sweetness of the miso salmon is balanced perfectly over the nest of savory, salty and slightly spicy (if desired) ramen noodles… you will want to make it over and over and OVER.
hoisin, ginger & lemongrass short ribs
YOU GUYS!!! These 👏🏼are 👏🏼 like 👏🏼 CANDY! I have made this recipe so many times and they never cease to blow my mind. They fall apart and almost taste caramelized from the hoisin and brown sugar in the sauce. They are sweet, salty, savory and scrumptious… all my favorite S’s.
the nest meatloaf
First of all, don’t judge this recipe by the 3 year old picture above. I will definitely be reshooting this one but I thought it was more important to get this savory delight to your fingertips. This is one of my most made recipes here in my nest. I have never, and WILL never, get sick of it.
blackened fish tacos with mango cabbage slaw
There is nothing more satisfying than taco filled with fresh & flaky blackened fish topped with a sweet & crunchy slaw in a charred flour tortilla shell. Well, at least that’s true to me! Summer is inching its way into view and so is lighter fare foods that will leave us satisfied without the overly full feeling.
the nest jumbo lump crab cakes
Jumbo lump crab cakes was the birthday dinner request from my husband this year so I thought I’d give them a shot and WHOA, did they turn out AMAZING. A perfect crab cake in my book are thick and crispy with a punch of flavor that doesn’t take away from the decadent large clumps of crab.
pineapple grilled short ribs
These ribs are like bites of tender candy in your mouth that are packed full of flavor. Besides marinating time, they only take 3-4 minutes per side on the grill and you have complete perfection.
dry rubbed bbq ribs
I am totally a fall off the bone rib lover, and these were exactly that WITHOUT searing, grilling and all that jazz. All you need to make this recipe is your favorite dry rub, your favorite BBQ sauce, some aluminum foil & an oven! Say whaaaattt?
whole roasted chicken
There isn’t anything better than slicing your knife into a tender, juicy whole roasted chicken that’s been stuffed, seasoned & basted with citrus, fresh herbs, garlic & butter.
mamma g's pork medallions
This is such a unique recipe because the pork is simmered in a sauce made of vermouth, white wine & orange juice. I’ve never cooked with vermouth so I was so intrigued to try it! It is a simple yet eloquent taste that I really enjoyed.
the nest pot roast
Falling apart, tender & juicy… this pot roast will become a household staple for you, too! The prep time is hardly time consuming and then you just sit back and let the slow-cooked fill your house with the best aroma there is until its time for dinner.
sticky chicken
A little bit sweet and a little bit savory. I am asked frequently to make this for dinner and I can 100% understand why. And the good news is, I never mind because it’s the easiest recipe maybe on the planet! Bonus: it’s only 3 ingredients.
enchilada casserole
This is one of my all time favorite go to’s, especially for a group! The layers of beans, cheese, fresh corn, red pepper, onion, and green chiles are perfect, especially with a dollop of sour cream on top! Also, this can be made with chicken, ground beef or even vegetarian!
i heart pepperoni pizza
What is better than a beautifully balanced pepperoni pizza? Pepperoni’s cut into the shapes of hearts… that’s what. This classic blend of toppings is enhanced with fresh sliced garlic cloves, crushed red pepper & fresh mozzarella versus shredded.
three greens pesto pizza
I mean, if it has THREE greens on it, it’s automatically in the healthy category… right? I LOVE the blend of these ingredients. It is bright with the citrus notes, herbaceous from the pesto, and so decadently creamy from the burrata & ricotta cheeses.
tarragon mustard cornish hens
Don’t let these little guys scare you off! Cornish Hens are simple to make and can be such elegant main dish for you, two or a group. This version is a French inspired recipe using ingredients such as dijon mustard & tarragon.
cranberry citrus rosemary chicken
It’s the holiday season and that deserves a dish full of holiday vibes, beauty and most of all, flavors. This chicken is not only a showstopper but it is so incredibly simple to make.
crispy honey mustard chicken
Pull off the bone chicken is always a good idea no matter what the season or occasion. I am always working on a perfect, juicy, crispy yet tender roasted chicken recipe and by George, I think I’ve done it.
daddy's grilled BBQ chicken
Growing up, my dad would make this BBQ chicken and it will forever be my favorite preparation. It is boiled before being grilled low and slow to finish the cooking and bring it to the perfect tenderness.
