A little bit sweet and a little bit savory. I am asked frequently to make this for dinner and I can 100% understand why. And the good news is, I never mind because it’s the easiest recipe maybe on the planet! Bonus: it’s only 3 ingredients.

You can use various meats with this sauce. I love chicken thighs but chicken breasts, salmon and even tofu would taste awesome with this mixture!

I also strongly suggest serving this with Sweet & Salty Rice.

MAKES

2 servings

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

INGREDIENTS

6 chicken thighs

1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Extra virgin olive oil

Pepper

Handful of fresh chopped parsley, if desired

METHOD

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar. Pat the chicken thighs dry and lightly season with pepper.

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add a couple turns of olive oil, and once heated, add the chicken thighs. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.

  • Add the soy sauce mixture to the skillet and turn the heat up to medium-high. Bring the mixture to a low boil and continuously stir and turn the chicken thighs over in the sauce for 6-8 minutes or until the sauce is thickened and mainly sticking to the chicken.

  • Sprinkle a little fresh parsley over the chicken if desired for a fresh herby flavor addition.
